Our history in brief
In the early 1990s, a small "fist workshop" was born in my mother's kitchen. At first, the idea was to make only gifts for friends and relatives, but the fabric printing took us with it. Soon, a few markets had already been visited and the sales had been quite good. In the beginning, the corporate form was a business name and then a tax group, finally since 1996 we have operated as a limited company.
Our family business has operated with different configurations, run by my two sisters and my mother and father.
My mother and I applied for further education from the artisan studies that started in 1997, from which we graduated in the spring of 2000.
Since then, I took a break from trying and studied a couple of new professions. (Print production assistant studies have been a great help in setting up this online store.) As my parents continue and grow the company even further.
Now my grown children were allowed to grow up "under the press table" in the corner of the looms, and often with their cousins and aunts in grandma's care, while my sister and I toured markets and fairs.
Over the years, we have participated in numerous events.
The northernmost market has been in Oulu and the southernmost in London's Camden. You may also have seen us in Helsinki - Tikkuraitti, the market square and Tuomaan markkinat, as well as in Wanha satama, Laitila Muna-markkinat or for example in Turku Silakka markkinat, Messukeskus and Kauppatori. To mention a few.
My parents founded their own shop in Naantali, on Kaivokatu, after previously being in various cooperation formations, renting in several places. The last brick-and-mortar store was on Mannerheiminkatu in Naanatali.
Good workshop facilities in connection with the apartment were once also found in Naantali, and the company still operates there. After my sister moved from the downstairs apartment, an office-warehouse-collection point was expanded there for the online store.
Now that the company has passed to me as a generational change, with the support and help of my parents, new winds are blowing and hopefully will carry our beloved family business into the future.

Iitut- name from a nickname, a name for a company.
We girls have been called Iitu when we were little, especially when we have been a bit stubborn.
The name is also funny because it's a mirror image :)(: iitut-tutii in the dialect means a kind of sleeping
